COWTOWN’S CAN-AM ANOTHER CLASSICS SUCCESS!

This year’s Classic Can Am Summer Series was a double-header held in Calgary, Alberta, and was another huge triumph for our program.

In match #1 the Canadian Classics “A” side staged a brave defensive stand on their goal line to hold a rampaging Classic Calgary Mavericks squad to a respectable 30-30 draw at full time. Hometown fans were delighted with the contest & cheered for both sides. Rugby was the clear winner.

Match #2 pitted the Canadian Classics vs a dangerous American Barbarians side. Although the Barbarians showed flashes of promise throughout the match, the Classics’ depth and experience proved too much for the tourists and saw the home team through to a 37-5 victory.

Off the pitch the Classics found time to visit Banff National Park, celebrate their results at the world-famous Calgary Stampede, and provided some legacy gifts to help support Calgary youth rugby!
